Wznowienie mszy i nabożeństw w kościele Sacred Heart od 30 maja

Reopening Letter from Fr. Alfredo Monacelli

Dear Parishioners,

I look forward to welcoming the People of God back to the Sacred Liturgy from this Saturday, May 30th, Pentecost weekend; mindful that we must do so carefully and gradually to ensure the health and well-being of all those who attend. Re-opening our Church will look very different, due to the additional protocols and directives we are required to follow.

Bishop Gary states that the dispensation from attending Mass given to all the Faithful of the Diocese of Victoria will remain during this phase. As such, if you are uncomfortable with coming to Mass, please stay at home. I, Fr. Alfredo, will continue to record Mass to be available online at www.sacredheartvictoria.com on Sunday morning each week.

The following MUST stay home for the sake of the wider community:

People infected with COVID-19 or who live with someone with COVID-19.
People who have been exposed to someone with COVID-19.
The sick, including those with even the slightest symptoms or feelings of sickness, especially with upper respiratory or flu-like symptoms.
Those who have recently travelled outside of Canada.

The following are ENCOURAGED to stay home for the sake of the wider community:

People who live with someone with upper respiratory or flu-like symptoms.
People, especially the elderly, with underlying or compromised medical conditions.
Family members who live with elderly people or those who are at risk.
Those who feel that their age puts them on the vulnerable list.

During this period, we are given the privilege of having Mass Groups of 50 attendees (including myself), that are pre-registered. These groups will remain FIXED through our re-opening – NO seat swaps. If you cannot attend your fixed time slot, your assigned seat will just remain empty. It is imperative that we record exactly who attends each Mass Group, without any changes. There will be NO floating and registering in other parishes. I encourage retirees to consider attending Mass during the weekdays to allow working families to attend on weekends.

Please note that you may sign up for ONLY ONE Mass per week. This Mass that you sign-up for will be the same and only Mass that you will attend until new directives are given.

To pre-register, please visit our on line Sign-Up link and choose one Mass from the Masses posted.

Tuesday 9am | Thursday 7pm | Saturday 4pm | Sunday 9am

You will submit your name, quantity (number of family members attending), your phone number, your email address, and ensure ALL the names of family members are listed. This will help us track, and trace each parishioner in that particular “Group” should a breakout occur.

A confirmation message will be sent to you via email.

While attending your selected Mass through this period, please advise if you would like to volunteer and commit as an usher, or help with the cleaning and sanitizing of the church after the Mass you attend.

When you arrive for Mass, please approach the usher at the entrance for your attendance to be recorded. You are welcome to wear a mask upon arriving for and during Mass.

Your understanding in this matter is much appreciated.

God Bless you all,

Fr. Alfredo Monacelli
